Toeknuckles are wearable art; each pair is individually fabricated and assembled based on a pair of sneakers. They are crafted from metal and canvas components. From start to finish, each pair takes at least 2 months to sculpt, fit, and assemble. Some versions may take longer.
Toeknuckles are not mass produced, not offered by Converse and are not affiliated with Converse. They are a hand-made modification to existing sneakers. Each pair is individually numbered using the Doobrie Punch numbering system, ensuring uniqueness.

FAQs
-
Toeknuckles are built on a commission basis and are expensive to make because they require fabrication of heavy metal, as well as intricate assembly. If you would like to commission a pair, contact us.
-
No. We purchase the exact shoes for modification directly from the manufacturer.
-
Absolutely not. We do not sell this separately. We always buy a new pair of shoes for every commission and then modify the logo and other parts of the shoe. With every pair we will provide you with the original logos that were removed from the shoes.
-
Maybe. But do you really want that? The process for turning a toe model into Toeknuckles alters their shape radically. You would not recognize your own toes. The cost to design the stainless steel toe model from scratch will add at least $8,000 to the cost of the shoes, as it takes at least an additional 200 hours to create the individual model. We would also need you to sit and do a cast of your toes.
-
Maybe. If you would like this it may add to the cost of the shoes, as a new toe model may need to be built. The toe models we use are only for sizes women's 7 to men's 12.

Maybe. We love performing artists, especially dancers. If you want to use them in your dance performances, and you're an established dancer, feel free to contact us using the link above.
